Technical Manager | East Anglia | £Tailored To Individual
Our client is an investment and development property company who require a highly experienced Technical Manager, to operate within their Land Development team to assume responsibility for and coordinate all technical matters from site appraisal and feasibility to the point of disposal or build.
You will manage and coordinate all technical matters relating to projects assigned to you. Ideally, you will hold an Engineering or Construction qualifications and have at least 10 years of technical experience gained in mixed-use development gained whilst working for consultants, house builders, developers or contractors. You will have a good working knowledge of technical matters related to all aspects of mixed-use development and have a thorough understanding of the development process. You will have excellent communication and coordination skills and be a self-motivated, dedicated, hard-working team player who is also able to work independently.
As Technical Manager you will assume responsibility for:
Development Process - to add value by providing technical input at feasibility, planning, and build or disposal stages, ensuring the most efficient, value engineered, technical solutions required to deliver schemes in accordance with the project programme and in the most cost-effective manner.
Undertake technical appraisals on sites being considered for promotion/acquisition to inform the Development Team of all technical constraints and opportunities to develop. Brief, agree on scope, obtain fee proposals, appoint, manage and co-ordinate multi-disciplined teams of consultants and contractors, ensuring high standards of output from consultants and ensuring approvals for all designs are secured from relevant bodies.
Attend project and design meetings as required taking an active involvement in community engagement exercises.
Assist Development Team with discharging any planning conditions which are considered to add value or enhance the disposal process.
Collate technical documentation for upload to a data room used to market sites.
Assist with the adoption of roads, sewers, utilities, POS’s and play spaces.
Assist purchasers with post acquisition and occupation queries.
Prepare plans where necessary.
Contribute to the continued improvement of the internal project management systems and proactively liaise with other members of the internal and external project delivery teams. You will be expected to have good commercial awareness and use resources effectively, programme and prioritise work to ensure that delays do not occur. It is accepted that your level of ability and operation, as a highly experienced Technical Manager, will be underpinned by exemplary communication skills at all levels.
