A strategic decision to tackle a portfolio of land holdings has created a new opportunity for a planning & development surveyor. With significant funds to exploit every opportunity, the objective is to exploit the intrinsic value through appropriate land promotion and the subsequent development opportunity created. To facilitate this, the successful applicant will join an enthusiastic team to help focus on these objectives. The numbers are significant; the challenge is both diverse (in what you will encounter) and exciting because of the sheer scale of development potential.
In meeting long term objectives you get to focus on a variety of P&D issues, from appraisal to disposal, in line with our client’s objectives. Commercial awareness, communication and negotiating skills are a prerequisite to handle the level and sensitivity of negotiations with local authorities, stakeholders and landowners across complex land holdings.
Handling individual projects through planning process will be the thrust of your remit. Critical to your success is managing the discussions to maximise the investment and development potential of all projects. This requires stringent review processes to ensure value for money is incorporated into all proceedings.
To succeed, a thorough understanding of the planning process is required. Managing the successful conclusion of large planning and development projects will be evident in your career. As a Chartered Surveyor or Chartered Town Planner, you will be adept in land promotion with a thorough understanding of planning process covering complex land sales for mixed, commercial or residential uses.
