Our client delivers dedicated in house property service across a diverse portfolio across the UK. They created a new role for a Building Surveyor to complement the existing team. You will be working out of their offices in Warwickshire focusing on the properties across the Midlands, the South West and North of England.
In brief you will be concentrating on the following:-
* Ensuring Major Works programme implemented and maintained
* Dealing with a wide range of maintenance issues across the portfolio
* Preparing specifications for major repairs and re-decorations
* Liaising with tenants and leaseholders
* Overseeing contractors and monitoring performance
* Preparing minor works schedules
* Liaising with local authorities
* Agreeing payments
We are looking for a building surveyor who is MCIOB/MRICS or qualified by experience who can work well in a small team. There will be some asset driven strategy as well as day to day management.
The candidate needs to have a broad background to include knowledge of building surveys and particularly dilapidations, a strong understanding of Landlord and Tenant Legislation, awareness of Building and Health and Safety Regulations including the Fire Precautions Act, Asbestos Regulations, Disability Discrimination Act and other appropriate legislation. You should be capable of working largely unsupervised in his/her role and should be able to report to their colleagues and line manager regarding progress and updates.
The candidate will have at least 5 years relevant experience managing commercial property preferably client side. You may possess RICS qualification or building/property experience and capable of dealing with planned maintenance and asset management issues.
